A 'Staycation' (Part 2)

Last weekend, instead of going to one of my usual haunts to take pictures, I went back to a location I've been wanting to revisit for a long time. This is a spot close to Embankment, and I was there nearly two years ago for a photo session, which resulted in this blog post you may remember (Goth Love (Part 5) - Made in London). That was one of my first photo expeditions for the blog, and the blog itself didn't exist yet, as it was still in the process of being designed! However, I captured the photos in anticipation of having the blog up and running, even though I didn't get to post the photos until some time later.

It was really nice to retrace my steps and venture to the same place. Luckily, the area where I took the pictures before was unchanged, so I was able to have my photo session there once more. The London Eye a short distance away made for a dramatic backdrop. My photo session was cut short due to a sudden downpour, so I captured the detail shots indoors later on. It was lovely to be by the river, and I want to go back when the weather is better, so I can capture more images of it. It's been ages since I acted like a tourist in my own city, but the past bank holiday weekend seemed like the ideal time to do that.

This post was my follow-up to a blog post I did in May (A Staycation (Part 1)). The outfit I'm wearing is signature me, and I adore the navy top with little red flowers. I hope you like this look too! When was the last time you acted like a tourist in your own locality? Please leave a comment below and let me know! xx

Hide and Seek

Hello and happy Friday to you! I hope you've had a good week. I'm excited to share this outfit with you, featuring my new bomber jacket which was first shown on the blog in my Ultimate Vegas Outfit Challenge. I wore my V & A print top from last year, which has served me well this summer, with indigo jeans, and donned the silky bomber jacket for some added edge. I thought this would be perfect for creating a casual but fashion-forward street style look. It's a look which is all about attitude and confidence. To soften the look, I added my silver fairy necklace from Covent Garden Market which is being shown for the first time on the blog. The fairy figure is very striking and beautifully made, with lovely detailed wings (see below), and I fell in love with it straight away. I finished the look with silver ballet pumps with a subtle snakeskin print. I like the way the ballet pumps are ladylike, but the snakeskin finish gives them a tougher edge.

Do you like my outfit? Which looks are you sporting this summer? Please let me know in the comments below, as I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for dropping by, and enjoy the weekend! xx
